[If there was a Santa Claus for Valentine's Day, Kanonno would be it. She's got an almost comically large bag full of smaller, more colorful bags decorated with hearts and ribbons, and if one were to look inside, they'd find an assortment of handmade chocolates that look like they were made by a variety of skill levels ranging from lumpy beginner chocolate to simple but fancy with little additions like nuts and dried fruit bits. Plus some heart-shaped Apple Gels for good measure, because it's always nice to give something practical in the mix.]

[She's been flagging down everyone she knows to give them a bag, but she's got such an excess that she doesn't mind giving them out to random strangers as well. So here, have a cute little treat bag (politely) shoved in your face.]

It's that weird twilight hour where even the most prolific night owl would be asleep, yet even the earliest of morning birds wouldn't call it morning. But the law doesn't sleep, and neither does Kangai apparently. All he wanted was to take a walk outside on a restless night, and yet here he is, reporting a dead body he found on the stairs of the local shopping arcade. Just his luck.

But at least the first officer on the scene is someone he knows, so the questioning goes rather smoothly. That is, except for the part where officer Gurski is making him stick around because technically they have an agreement where Kangai's not supposed to be off on his own. Gurski tapes off the crime scene, and the two of them wait outside for a "famous detective" to show up. Kangai doesn't really get it, but Gurski said something about the brass wanting to let them handle this case since they're in town or something.

Well, whatever. Until this detective shows up, he's gonna organize what he knows in his notebook.

[Efi's been left to her own devices, but she can only do so much on her own before getting bored. And if doing stuff on her own is boring, then the solution is obviously to start involving other people. She looks around for anyone looking equally bored or otherwise not busy, and you happen to be her target. Have a small girl stare at you intently until you either start a conversation or make eye contact, whichever comes first.]

❖ B: Lunchtime

[It's lunchtime, and that means food time. At least, it would be if Efi could find any. She's not in the most crowded of areas, so lies are scarce. But her stomach's growling so loud you can hear it from a few feet away, so if she doesn't eat something soon, the poor girl is gonna pass out.]

[Maybe you're a little glum today, or maybe you're just thinking about something too hard. Whatever it is, the expression on your face is enough to make Efi think you're not having a good day. So she's gonna come over and offer a smile and a piece of candy with an outstretched hand.]
