[Efi's been left to her own devices, but she can only do so much on her own before getting bored. And if doing stuff on her own is boring, then the solution is obviously to start  involving other people. She looks around for anyone looking equally bored or otherwise not busy, and you happen to be her target. Have a small girl stare at you intently until you either start a conversation or make eye contact, whichever comes first.]

❖ B: Lunchtime

[It's lunchtime, and that means food time. At least, it would be if Efi could find any. She's not in the most crowded of areas, so lies are scarce. But her stomach's growling so loud you can hear it from a few feet away, so if she doesn't eat something soon, the poor girl is gonna pass out.]
 

❖ C: is for Candy

[Maybe you're a little glum today, or maybe you're just thinking about something too hard. Whatever it is, the expression on your face is enough to make Efi think you're not having a good day. So she's gonna come over and offer a smile and a piece of candy with an outstretched hand.]

[Oh my. He knows a bored child when he sees one. Wondering vaguely if her parents have sent her out to play, he crouches down so that he's on the same level as her, quietly setting down the large case he was carrying at his side.]

Hello there. Playing by yourself today?

Hello!

[Efi stops staring when the stranger approaches, and smiles back when greeted.]

Yup! Papa's busy right now, so I'm by myself. What about you, mister?

In that case, it probably isn't good to bother him. As for me, I was just looking for a place to rest, but that can wait a while.

[It's a small town, so it's not terribly urgent that he finds an inn right away.]

My name is Asuma. What's your name?

Really? Papa always looks for a place first before he does any important stuff. And then you don't have to carry that big case around either.

[Efi hovers around Asuma's case to make her point, but from the way she's looking at it, it's obvious that she's also curious about what's inside.]

I'm Efi! Nice to meet you, Mr. Asuma!

Oh, I don't mind bringing this around with me. It has some very important belongings, after all.

[He rests a hand on it almost fondly - and also to ensure that the clasps remain tightly shut even under her scrutiny.]

That's a lovely name, miss! Say, would you like to see something neat?

[lieater]

[There's a bit of disappointment when she realizes he won't open his case, but the offer of something else interesting immediately changes her mood.]

I wanna see! I wanna see!

Watch very closely, alright?

[He holds his right hand out, index finger pointed up.]

When I count to three, something amazing will happen. Are you ready?

I'm ready!

[An instant reply-- wherever he's pointing, Efi's staring at it with enough intensity to burn a hole through it.]

[Good girl. Now she won't notice the way his left hand rests on the case...]

One, two...

Three!

[And just like that, there's a puff of smoke as flowers and petals fly into the air from seemingly nowhere.]
