closed ☠ super detective bros
It's that weird twilight hour where even the most prolific night owl would be asleep, yet even the earliest of morning birds wouldn't call it morning. But the law doesn't sleep, and neither does Kangai apparently. All he wanted was to take a walk outside on a restless night, and yet here he is, reporting a dead body he found on the stairs of the local shopping arcade. Just his luck.
But at least the first officer on the scene is someone he knows, so the questioning goes rather smoothly. That is, except for the part where officer Gurski is making him stick around because technically they have an agreement where Kangai's not supposed to be off on his own. Gurski tapes off the crime scene, and the two of them wait outside for a "famous detective" to show up. Kangai doesn't really get it, but Gurski said something about the brass wanting to let them handle this case since they're in town or something.
Well, whatever. Until this detective shows up, he's gonna organize what he knows in his notebook.

Super Detective Bros! :D
Truth be told, however, it did seem to come at a rather inconvenient time. She'd been called into town to help with another case that they had recently closed, and was due to return to Inaba the next day. However, they'd recently found another body, and were requesting that she be in town to help for the next few days. At this rate, she'd be unable to graduate on time.
However, she'd agreed to take this case, and she'd do her best to see it through. It's easy enough to find the crime scene, but tracking down the officer in charge seems a bit more difficult. There does seem to be somebody taking notes nearby, however, perhaps he might know?
"Excuse me, do you happen to know the officer in charge of this case?"
this only took forever
"Uh, yeah. He's in the middle of getting a statement though..." Kangai looks in the direction Gurski is, but the officer isn't visible from their angle. "Want me to go get him?"
tags in so late i buy a starbucks to apologize
Unfortunately, that means that she has time to kill before talking to the officer. She was rather uninformed at the moment, so if she has this time to utilize, it would probably be best to find what she can at the crime scene, and see what information she can get from the other people at the scene.
"Do you know what happened here?" It felt strange of her to ask, every detective should be at least that informed, but the initial caller hadn't done anything aside from asking for her help solving the murder. She was unaware of the victim's age, status, and even the cause of death. She was told that she'd be briefed by "officials" at the scene.
Naoto certainly didn't think that the kid looked "official" in any capacity, but he did carry himself someone who was supposed to be there. He at least seemed to know where the officer was, which was a good enough sign. And, if she could walk in knowing at least the bare minimal facts of the case, it would certainly leave a better impression than if she couldn't.
How about we just never talk about how late we are again because. 26 weeks.
But am I even allowed to talk about it? The thought crosses his mind before he can even finish his sentence. Kangai's not exactly bound by protocol, but at the same time, he's not gonna spread info to everyone who asks without a good reason. Too much trouble later on, especially if Gurski finds out he gave case details to a random teenager that--
Wait.
Not that he's one to talk, but a teenager showing up to a crime scene at this inane hour is definitely not normal. Especially when their first question is 'who's the lead officer' and not vague inquiries of curiosity. Kangai mentally kicks himself for not realizing it when she first showed up, but. Now's not the time for that.
"Sorry, before that. Are you the one Officer Gurski said we're waiting on?"
